well the thickness of some cables are like your arm, in the winter we put a five foot pipe 6" in diameter over the arm cable then use a hot air gun down the tube to make the cable malleable (and warm) so its easier to strip, obviously you can charge more for this sort of work but it depends if you are the employer or employee. if you are the employee you don't get much more money as bosses view these glands as donkey work.

yeh i have done them at home with 16mm Armoured SWA and sometimes they can be awkword i wouldn't like to imagine how you do it with about 100mm cable are the glands heavy do you need special tools

industryspark i see you on Tuesday Night about 8

hey dan listening to you it sounds as if you would like to get in to the heavy side, best route for you if you can get in, would be your local electricity distributor western power in our area. try to get on the high voltage kit

Hi,
If you have a 32A Ring Main and you overload it can you up the fuse 40A and does the cable need to be upgraded to 4mm?
.... i have recently rewired the house and i have put 1 fuse box for the house and i have pulled the service fuse out put an Isolator on then a Service Connector Block, i have then connected another Fuse box (Metal) to service connector and ran a 40a to the shed 2 core SWA earth armour...

OK. But do you really do installations and pull supply fuses? And run outdoor supplies? And do you test and self-certify or have them inspected? Or are you learning?
