I have an old TV (maybe 12 years old) with one scart socket.
Have bought a freeview box. When connected through scart socket get picture but it moves slowly across and down the screen and colour changes.
Have tried my DVD player and get the same. Have also tried other scart leads. Both DVD and other scart leads work OK on other TV sets.
Therefore assume either :
1. the scart socket on the TV does not work (had not tried using it before)
2. Or maybe the specification of scart sockets has changed since I brought the TV (12 years ago).
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Setup the set top box for Composite video ( NOT RGB ) and give that a try. What you are seeing on the screen is the result of RGB inputs to the scart socket but Syncronization from an off air ( or NO ) signal.

Thanks for the response Gees.
Gave it a try but no change I am afraid.
Since my original post I have got the top box working OK on another TV, so I still think the problem is with the original scart socket. I have also noticed that the sound coming through the TV that I have problems with, is from the TV/analogue channel rather than the channel coming through the top box.
Any other ideas?

get a new tv, if you have tried all the settings, short of "moving a few wires" i can not see what else you can do, but some one else may have a different opinion :)

a voltage on pin 8 of the scart socket is used to switch the TV to accept external inputs. If this is not working then as there seems to be no manual method of switching your tv to the scart socket you are up the creek without a paddle.
