That's an odd place for the fixing screw, Rob...is it a Converta socket?
And....Is that an acre of space under that joist? Could they have got the cables underneath?

Yeah it's a tec brand converta from city. I think a duff connection in the plug was to blame there.
There's no gap under the joist, just a trick of the photo. The joist gap with the pipes in was rammed solid with cables. We were only meant to be rejigging the lighting a bit for an extension which we were wiring!
