I have been asked a question by a friend that I cannot answer. They have renewed the tap in the kitchen and now when they turn the tap on the pipe bangs.
New tap in kitchen, so this tap is mains supply.
My guess is because the tap is new it is more efficient than the old one giving a better flow so when turned on or off any feed pipes that are not clipped prperly will have a whiplash effect causing pipes to bang.
Either clip feed pipes securely (if possible) or turn mains pressure down.
