Im siting a PIR in my dining room. On one side of the room there is a sliding patio door, on the other side there is the radiator.

So which side shall i site the PIR? Ive read it shouldnt face a window or radiator??

Thanks

Sometimes its difficult to avoid pointing detectors at problem areas. Most modern detectors are very tolerant to these problems, just pick a good quality detector , a quad preferably , mount it correctly and seal any holes, and it should be fine.

Thanks Denford, i bought Texecom QDs they are quads.

Im going to take a gamble and mount facing the radiator wish me luck!

Most of my PIRs point at windows with radiators under them.

I've not had any bother in the last 19 years.

You only get bother if you site the sensor OVER the radiator. Across the room won't affect it.
