I have had a search but not quite find the answer I needed regarding my particular problem.

I want to fit a PIR sensor in a bathroom to replace a pull cord switch. I have bought a sensor, I just need some help wiring it correctly.

These are what I currently have wiring wise, black and brown wires jointly to 'com' and smaller brown wire to 'L2', 'L1' is unused.

This is the back of the new unit. From left to right, I have 'earth', 'N' and 'L'

The right hand side has 'L' and what might be a switch symbol with another Greek letter below.

Can I use the new sensor and if so, what goes where?

Many thanks

Does this pull switch operate a light and a bathroom fan or other light at the moment?
For your PIR (suppose its too late to suggest you don't bother - its a pain when your playing with your ships in the bath and the light goes out - waving arms like a signaller doesn't seem to work) -
You need a live, neutral and earth at your PIR. Your neutrals are blue/black in that the terminal block - the rest will be determined by what you currently have running from this pull switch.

Thank for the reply, yes, there is an extractor as well.
A steer to exactly which wires go where would be very much apriciated. I think there are done blue wires unused in the ceiling but don't know if they ate connected to anything.

You will have to be guided by the manufacturers instructions - but from older timeguard instructions you need to put the blue/black/grey neutral wires in the N terminal (you can just run a single blue from the terminal block continuing the neural circuit)- the single brown (assuming it is permanent live) in the L terminal and the brown/black(brown sleeve) assuming switch live in the terminal on the right next to the black link.

Could you tell me what make of the PIR is that / where purchased ?
Thanks
The clue to the make and model is the in the picture.
The clue to where you can purchase it from is on the interweb...

I got mine from my local trade counter, I think I paid under £25.

The second picture didn't load last time, since the question about make ..
I've now got the same PIR.

In our bathroom the pull switch only operates a light, there is a black, red and green-yellow wire, how do I connect it to the PIR?

Thanks

You need to get a neutral to the "PIR", if it was me I would install a new cable with 3-cores and earth, most probably between the existing light fitting to the switch/PIR location
