Pitched roof/ Flat roof one roof or two

Hi,

looking for some points of View.

Would you consider a house with a pitched roof and an adjoining flat roof as one roof or two roofs?

The pitched roof is pitched and is finished with a slate covering and the flat roof has a zinc covering.

If one is pitched and one is flat then it's two roofs.
I guess it's a two storey extension with a flat roof?

By any measure these will always be classed as two distinct roofs.

Is this related to home insurance where the insurer is asking the roof type? Some ask a blanket "is it flat or pitched?" whilst others ask for the percentage of flat roof when there are two types
