Planning permission for fence (restrospective) refused!

So you have retrospective planning for the fence subject to planting a hedge in front of it. No sizes specified ? So whatever you plant will comply with that - they can't impose conditions that weren't in the original permission, tough luck on them if they forgot to include them.

That's my understanding at least.

It would seem prudent not to take the p**s though - no need to get anyone's backs up even if they can't do anything.

Thanks guys for the useful advice. I don't intend winding up the council. But we do intend to put up an attractive hedge in front of the fence (no more than 2 feet in height.
