Hi all

Looking at buying a 3bed semi with side garage. The plan would be for a double storey extension over the garage. The thing is the neighbours house has no garage so their landing window would be about 4ft away from mine.

Would this cause planning permission issues?

If its only a landing window, it shouldn't raise any planning issues.

There's no point in worrying about it at this stage; just send your application in and see what happens. Woody said where he is, it might be an issue; where I am, it's only an issue if it seriously cuts light to a habitable room window.

Check your council's policy guidelines for domestic extensions - there might be some indication there.
