Hi,

I have small yard in the back, having retaining wall 1.2m width x 0.6 m height along the back fence which is 10m long.
What plant should I put in the retaining wall to screen the double story house in the back?

I am after something the less bushy the better & high enough to screen the 2 story house, less maintained, less triming, the root won't damage the wall.

Thanks

Do you mean planting into the wall itself like a large trough? It's going to be tough to get something that tall and slim that won't have a vigorous root system that might penetrate the wall e.g. bamboo, willow, grass. Can the inside of the wall be lined for root control?

Or install trellis on posts in the wall and plant with a variety of climbers.
