plaster board painting

i have now finished boarding my ceiling, and i have filled the joints.
what is required to prime the boards for painting, i know gypsum do a primer but i can not find any, will emulsion do the same job

Are you not having it plastered then? I hope you taped the joints before filling otherwise it will crack!

yep i taped the joints, there is no need to skim the whole surface i just need to know which primer

you can use a Non Vinyl emulsion ....often called Contract emul. or Wickes do same called" emul. for new plaster"
