Hi. Can any one tell me what type of adhesive used to stick plaster boards on to walls? and which side out for plastering or wall papering??

Plaster Board Adhesive is the best product, available from your local building suppliers.

Get a bag of 'bonding' to stick to board to brick. Mix it fairly stiff, but not too stiff. It should stick to the brick when flicked onto it, but should have enough 'give' to press your boards home.

The plasterboard will have written on it which side to face which way.

MANY THANKS FOR THE INFO,MOST appreciatted.

You need to make dollops of it on the wall, rather than spreading it all over the back of the board.

Quite right there Adam. I made an assumption:

Dot it on the wall over the area that the board will cover. Make sure you scrim those joints too before skimming.

Scrim is the tape you use on the edges.

I find the reinforced adhesive type is better and easier than the paper.

I prefer to use scrim, once you've got the hang of it it's really quick to do.

for example if you are doing ceilings get a paint brush dab the adhesive onto the brush and make one stroke onto the scrim whilst holding it on the ceiling.

No probs at all
