plaster colour confusion

i normally only do rendering and screeding but recently done some skimming for a customer as i do it every so often. when the room was finished it looked fine but the lady asked me why its not pink. but it just threw me as when i've done skimming before it comes out a white with a slight pink colour i've seen other jobs that are really pink so i just wondered if anyone could tel me how it comes out that pink sometimes

I dont know about now...but a good few years back some plaster...typically that in the south east was grey...some stuff...but from a different place.

i always thought it was the brand of plaster used, knauf FP75 (that number might be wrong) is white and thistle multi finish usually comes out pink.
