dont know why he dident go down to the ground if thats what you wanted you can custom the skirting cut it so it goes over the floor (hearth) so it goes right up to the edge and return the edges i think that will look ok also
Just not sure about the raw edge of the skirting above the hart, it will be open ended wood.
If I filled the plaster gap with render, cement mix with water proof and a light skim or straight to skim, 2mm from floor then silicone, would tht be ok?
mmkIt won't be a raw edge you will be returning it you mitre the edge then saw a piece off another bit of skirting and put it on the end like you do with coving
