Plasterboard/skimming outside?

Hi - can anyone think of any reason to not hang plasterboard and apply a skim to a large outdoor porch?

There's no chance of rain getting under the porch but I just want to make sure that there's no issue with plasterboard being outside before proceeding.

What about air moisture, over time that will lead the plasterboard to failure and will warp, sag and crumble away

The reason for wanting to use plasterboard is that I want to install downlights in the porch.

Can you think of any other material that I could use instead for the ceiling?

I am by no means an expert but what about chipboard, paper over and paint?
