Hi.

I plasterboarded bedroom with ensuite 8 months ago.

Didn't get it skimmed right away. The room is heated.

My question is how long can a room be boarded before skimming?

Would there be need for further measures like pva?

Ensuite will be tiled would that require anything additional?

Cheers

I’d probably pva before skimming if it’s been up for that long. Either way whoever skims it will deal with it. Get the whole lot skimmed then tile over the plaster rather than directly on the board or you’ll wreck the board if you ever take the tiles off

What's the reason for pvc on the plasterboard

Dont use plasterboard on the wet walls in the ensuite. Use backer boards on stud framing.

PVA first, mine was on that long and was recommended by the plasterer to pva as it was ‘going off’ quickly.
