ive put my ceilings up, and now i got the plasterer in skimming away. i noticed that where the plasterboards join onto one another, on some of them there are some major gaps, and hes just put scrim tape over them. hes not filled in the gaps, should he be filling in the gaps with bonding or something and then putting scrim tape over the joins??? whats the consequences of not filling in the gaps and just scrim taping??

Most plasterers would fill up any sizeable gaps first before they put the tapes on, that way, the gaps are full up right through the thickness of the boards. By not filling up any large gaps first, the plaster will slump out of the gaps and form a ridge along the joint, plus you can't fill a big gap properly once the fibre tape is on.
