Dear all,

My first post in this section.
We are considering stripping off all the acrylic in the ceiling of our 3 bed property and replaster. The total surface area comes to approximately
35square meter. I live in London and I wonder how much I should expect to pay for this job please?
Do you think this may be a DIY job? I don't mind doing an odd DIY job here and there - previously decorated including laminated floorboards and painting only (for my own house).
Many thanks in advance.

Not sure what this acrylic is on your ceiling you're stripping (only know about paper, artex, painted) but I would say plastering is not an average DIYer job, and ceilings take som getting used to compared to walls.

You would need to start by practising on a small wall e.g under the stairs in a cupboard, under the stairs, or some plasterboard outside. I did a few walls before I had a go at a ceiling.

35sqm - is that 5 rooms? each ceiling has to be tackled separately so the number of ceilings needs to be taken into account I think..

If you mean artex , don't bother. It's a pig of a job even for professionals.
