What are the plastic air like that are out now?

Are there any benefits to having plastic air bricks?

Do they go manky in the sun after a few years?

All plastics fade.

The only advantage is that any cavity wall ducts or telescopic ducts associated with the air brick can be directly connected to the back of the air brick, thus affording you an efficient transmission of air.

as noseall has said they fade, but the plastic ones are by far more efficent then the terracotta ones.

A Terracotta 9x6 air brick gives about 7.5 sq ins ventilation, whereas a plastic one gives about 20 sq ins which is quite a difference.

Efficiency aside, i would rather fit a pair of terracotta fellas than one plastic effort. ;)
