Hi

we have a plastic soil pipe running up the indoors of the house and up to the roof vent...
in my bathroom on the top floor it runs up the back corner of the wall..
however just as it goes through the cieling to enter the loft space it has a bend to avoid the joist above...
thing is the bend joint they put on sticks out about 200mm passed the joist, making the boxing in of the soil pipe pretty big and ugly....

now could i cut the soil pipe just below and above this bend and add some sort of flexable connecter?
as i cant seem to find joint with the correct angles etc..

Hi you can cut it out altogther and take it further down and fit and auto vent system on it most modern houses have them and finnish it about 12" above the hight of the bath
they are not that exp about £20 but well worth it instead of the ugly boxin just make sure some air is getting into the boxing at the bottom

hi..

thats sounds good..
im boxing in behind the wc would that height be sufficient?
probably about 70cm above wc connection on floor....

also... it lets air in but what about letting the nasty gassy smells out?
or that that get flushed away?

cheers

it must be above the highest overflow level which is the basin not the wc
they don't let smells out only when they get jammed open.
