hi

just bought a new beko larder fridge and there is a plastic tray sat on top of the black compressor at the back. it looks like a drip tray but i dont know. there is nothing in the instructions about it.

any one know what it might be and if i can take it off?? or is it something which will need emptying every couple of days??

many thanks

george

its an evaporation vessel the heat from the compressor evaporates the water
if you look inside the fridge you will have a channel to catch the drips from the cooling surface
the tube leading to the evaporation vessel needs to be cleared occasionaly when it gets blocked
you will normaly know when its blocked because you will get water where you dont expect it
this can also cause ice build up on cold surfaces below the dranage channel
