To ridicule me for this evening putting a screw through a nice shiny 22mm CH flow pipe.

1.8 bar of warm water, all over the place. Smashing.

No ridicule, only sympathy. However, any photos (or a tape recording)?

Might take some pictures in the morning. No tape recording exists: but had it, I could never post it here due to obscene language.

Have (part) drained system now; tidal wave ceased; will repair in the morning. All good fun!

You have not made it clear if this is in your own house on someone elses?

Tony

Sooner or later it has to happen, and what a pain it is. You have to look at the funny side, but isn't it odd that the customer never does?

You obviously live alone. If there were a Mrs. slippyr4, I suspect you would not feel able to be so philosophical about it.

I hope you remembered to tighten the screw in, and block the hole?

It is my house, and there is a (miss) slippyr4. She couldn't complain though; it was only a few weeks ago she cut through a mains pipe ((partly) deliberately, with a pipe slice and everything).

Actually she was really good; there's me with me thumb on the hole and she turned the necessary electrics off, then took position with her thumb while i went and got some hosepipe to drain the system.

You live and learn. I knew damn well the pipe was there - I was screwing in a floorboard, i'd seen the pipe only moments before.

Thats just masochism!

However if its your house then you can do what you like there!

Tony

1' pipe, 2 straight couples and a bottle of X100 later, and we're back in business. Now I have to decide whether having a shower is more important than going and getting my Xbox 360 :)

Sounds like you were too busy to notice what the other couple were up to.
