please help identify this

Hello, I found this tube lying on my drive some time ago and I cannot for the life of me figure out where it came from, it's about 6 inches long, made of plastic and has writing along the side stating ' Assemble the pipe with the mark on the desired number' The same statement is also written in italian on the other side. it has a hole along its length and a rubber o ring at one end.

any ideas?

What does the other end look like? It looks to me like it could be off a pump/fountain for a garden pond?
