PLEASE HELP ME... This is driving me mad !!!

Hi D_Hailsham

Note: the Pump gets its Live connection from the Boiler PL terminal via JB 9. This in accordance with mfr instructions.

Switched Live (SL): JB 10
Pump Live (PL): JB 9

I'm stuck on these two above, does this mean that I need to link between JB 9 & JB 10 ?

All the rest has gone spot on

Sorry to be a pain

Ian

Sorry for not coming back sooner. Someone else was hogging the computer yesterday evening!

No!

The boiler is turned on and off by the connection from JB 10 to the Switched live terminal on the boiler.

The pump, according to the mfrs instructions, should be connected directly to the boiler using the PL terminal. But your pump is in the airing cupboard, presumably some distance from the boiler. So we connect the pump Live wire to JB 9 and run a wire from JB 9 to the PL terminal on the boiler.

If you do not have a wire already connected to the PL terminal on the boiler, come back to me as the original installer has not followed the mfr instructions.

I see you started two new posts in an attempt to get an answer to your query while I was off-line. I understand your frustration at being "almost there", but not able to complete and can only apologise for my enforced absence.

Have you managed to sort out the problem?

if he'd prefer I will send him a cheque for helping me out.
Thank goodness we are anonymous on here.

I'm not a professional and wouldn't think of charging friends for the knowledge I have acquired over the past 50+ years.

Hi again,

There's no need to apologise for you not being able to get online yesterday. :)

I have run a 2 core cable from connections:-

(SL on Boiler) = JB 10

(PL on Boiler) = JB 9

I have set all the timers & programmers up to control the hot water & cental heating, but the boiler still seems to come on without any of the timers requesting it too.

Here is a pic of how the boiler is wired up

After looking at the manufacturers installation diagram, I cannot see a link between Live & Switched, unless it states
"If there is no external controls fitted, connect the SWL terminal to permanent live in the JB."

I hope i'm not talking complete rubbish...

Just remove the brown wire linking SL and L, near your thumb. It's shorting out all the controls!

Hi

Have done that & all seems to be working just great.

Me & Maxine thank you for your help with this, you have been a true star, taking up your time with our problem.

I would be grateful if you would choose a charity or let us send you a cheque for your trouble, so at least you can have a meal out or some drinks or something.

Sincere thanks

Ian & Maxine

D-Hailsham is an absolute star.

been following thread, to basically wire your system remotely is an amazing feat and gives him ( to me ) LEGEND staus

I would never have the time to put that amount of effort into following the wiring so tenaciously.

The OP did help himself greatly though when he started posting all those photos.

A picture speaks 3000 words when its a heating problem.
