Hi all,

I'm in desparate need of some advice please ?

I have installed a new Drayton Digistat 3+ to my existing Drayton Tempus Programmer & when I adjust the room temperature to manually overide the set times, the flame appears as though the stat is "Calling for heat from the boiler but the boiler doesn't fire up.

I have a Ferroli Sigma 40/60 Combi boiler, could it be that the Digistat 3+ isn't compatible with the boiler, or is there some other wiring I need to do.

I can provide images of the wiring that was already installed if needed.

Your help with this matter is grately appreciated

Thanks in advance

Ian

are you trying tooveride the progremmer with the roomstat?

what you need is a drayton programmable roomstat

If you stuck it in series with anything else, they BOTH have to be on to fire the boiler.
Or better, with a combi you chuck away the old tempus.

Hi Bengasman

Thanks for your reply, both items are on when the stat is calling for heat but unfortunately the boiler doesn't fire up.

Switched Live/Load to Drayton Tempus (ON)
Permenant Live to Drayton Tempus (L)
Link wire connected between the L & C Terminals on the Drayton Tempus One as advised on another thread.

Do I need to wire a link from the Drayton Tempus one to the main wiring box ??

Ian

Sorry Bengasman,

Can you explain your theory to me, do I chuck the Tempus and just use the digistat 3+ or do I get a completely diferent system

Sorry t6o sound so thick

Ian

Chances are that the tempus and wiring centre are a leftover from a previous installation with a cylinder, in which case you don't really need any of it.
A progammable roomstat is timer and thermostat in one, so all you need is to connect the 2 "thermostat" leads to the thermostat connections on the combi.
When most combis come out of the box, there is a bridge between the thermostat connections; this is where you stick the 2 wires.
Make sure that you know what goes where as some boilers have volt free switching and don't want anything else than a "switch" connection.
You will need the Manufacturer's Instructions, as well as the installation manual for the roomstat to find out what is what.

Thanks Ben

That sounds about right, i'm starting to think that most of the stuff in this house is left overs from something else..... The  really did build this one....lol

Many thanks again Ben

Grately appreciated

Ian

Think nothing of it.
I just return some of the knowledge others have given me.

Ahem,

I thought the Ferroli Sigma was a range of cast-iron heat only boilers, Bengasman. Clue is right there in the 40/60.

In which case the Tempus will be controlling HW as well. If this is the case , the OP should be fitting a roomstat only!
