I Have it working but need the manual to reset the alarm code. First house don’t have the money to buy brand new alarm.

That's a blast from the past.
Think default is 0123 ?
To change code
Enter code (default)
Press prog
Press 8
If I remember you now have 4 led's lit
Not enter new code
As you put a number in each led goes off

All zones are disconnected for a start ,the old optima didn't have a NVM so you must make sure you have a good battery or it will default to 0123 in a power cut, check under keypad you will see a large resistor if it's all burnt / black your wasting your time , a new panel will only cost you around £ 30 -40

Couldn't' you just replace that resistor from maplins or rs components etc?

You could (A) spend time replacing it (B) buying a soldering iron and desolder pump (C) buying a multimeter to check what the output from the battery terminals are after replacing it and then finding out something else is also damaged ! ........mmmmmm will it cost more than £30 for a 30 year old panel that has limited programming options .....?
