Hi

I seem to be have a probelm with one of my water taps.

On the pipe connecting to the tap, above the valve, you got a nut which connects to the tap, and another nut, which looks to me like a plastic nut, this seems to leak water, i got a bowl under it at the moment, i have to change the bowl every couple of hours, because it keeps on getting full

I took a couple of pictures

Oh we love photos, especially if it saves us crawling on our backs under smelly sink units (not that yours is smelly, but they usually are).

The problem is clear, and common. The washer inside the leaking joint probably needs replacing, although you might be lucky and just need to tighten the nut.

Problem is you need a special tool, called a basin spanner, to get at the nut. I think the cheaper ones are under £10, so might be worth it. Here is one from tool station.

Things often work loose, partly because those top nuts are plastic and you can't do them very tight so the tap starts to turn. If your tap isn't turning, leave well alone, but if it is, loose it off, clean everything really well (meths is good) and do it up with silicone under it. A bit of the same silicone in the lower nut which is leaking might do the trick there too!
