Hi guys..have a question that i hope someone can help with..I have a massive fish tank that i need to fill with warm water, normally done by connecting a hose pipe to the mixer tape, but this doesnt work that well as its hard to keep connected.

So was thinking of fitting to the hot and cold water pipes below sink a washer machine type t piece. Instead of going to the washer it will meet up with the hot water one to a single outlet with a hose pipe fitting? So how could i get to seperate pipes to combine into one?

Thank you

Hmmmmm.....You want to connect your HW service to the Mains cold? Do you have a combi or a cold water storage tank in loft?

How do you get your hot water?

There may be other issues about using a "Y" piece!

And you do realise how stressful it is to your fish to have tap water dumped straight into the tank don't you?

The water needs to be de-chlorinated before going anywhere near your tank otherwise it stresses the fish out and will all but destroy your biological filtration making the tank much quicker to get much dirtier! Vicious cycle....

The fish may complain, and so may your water company if they find there is no 'back flow prevention device' fitted.

At best it has got to be a category3 fluid risk.
