with no info all we can tell you is drain the system take the old one out
put new one in.

Changing a cylinder is possibly a DIY job if you are very confident but unless you can solder properly and seal threaded joints I would advise you not to try. Add to that the fact the tappings on the new cylinder probably won't match up with the old ones, drain taps are likely not to work after several years and both hot water and heating systems need draining and refilling. Go ahead at your peril but have the number of a pro at hand just in case.
 
Leave it to a plumber; if you do it wrong, the damage can run in the thousands.
