I had an extension put on my house, which included and canopy at the front

For some reason the builder has not pointed down the verge on one side

I'll just do it myself ... it can't be that hard and it's not high up

What mix cement / sand do you use

What type of sand ? building or concreting sharp sand

I know it should be a dry mix

I would be crateful for any advice.

thanks !

Don't say phone the builder, as I want to do it myself .... just to prove my wife wrong

Hi, I would use a 'normal' brickwork mix of 5-1 soft sand and cement, if that is what the bricks were laid in as that is what he must/would have used.
Are you just intending to fill the space under the tiles, or bring the filet down onto the brickwork?
If the latter, then use a piece of thin lat temporarily nailed to the wall paralell to the tile line to give a sharp drip and a straight edge at the bottom of the fillet.

With verges, its important to lift and bed the tiles down, rather than just filling the verge up with mortar.

Also use a mix of something like 3 sharp, 1 building sand and 1 cement - which will give a tough, crack free, long lasting mix.

Look in the roofing section where there is more info on this
