Hi All,

Just wondering if it would be possible to wire 2 pond water pumps into a 2 gang outdoor switch, Screwfix code 69431. Power would be from a 13amp plug from the garage to a weather proof junction box in which a float switch is wired. The power line currently leads from the junction box to a Blagden switchbox which needs replacing. At the moment if anything happens to drastically reduce the water level the pumps will switch off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you need a switch outside? I used to have a fish pond and everything was 12 volt fed from a transformer inside the house. Can you put all the switches inside the garage?
To give a proper reply you need to show a lot more of what you plan to do.

Is the wiring/cable to the pumps protected by anything for mechanical damage? What are they run in exactly?

Thanks for the replies.

John 4703,

Need switches near pond for convenience. Pumps are main voltage not 12v.

Outside cable to junction box is armoured cable. junction box next to switches.

Any more help would be helpful.
