I have a 4mm 3 core SWA cable approx 70ft runming from plug socket in house. This has fused spur and switch on outside of wall and runs to a outdoor style double socket in summer house. The ring is on a 32amp breaker. I have run electric lawnmower on socket. Due to lockdown have brought kids 10ft pool. Question is can i run 3kw heater from this outdoor socket. Quick calculafiom would suggest i would be running at almost 13amps? Would that mean tripping other electrics on the circuit? Thanks

I would say it's unlikely a 3kw heater will trip a 32a breaker, even with a lawnmower running as well, but I'll let the experts comment!

Edit- as far as I know, the length of the cable could be an issue, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will comment soon!

You are limited to 3KW by the 13A fuse. but, as above, plugging in the lawnmower at the same time should be OK.

But, how big is your garden? You could disconnect the heater while you mow the lawn. Or, get the kids to mow the lawn!
