Pop up plug in bath broken

I have a new bath and were the overflow is there is a device that you turn and it makes the plug move up or down. This was pushed down by accident.

Any idea on how i fix this?

Use a knife or similar sharp instrument to remove the plug from the waste then adjust the screw length on said plug.

plug has been removed and screw length adjusted - no joy.
some one has mentioned about the conection underneath the bath and a wire? what would i need to do?

Seriously,sounds as though something has 'gone' on the pup up waste.

You might have to remove it to take a look. Obviously I'm only speaking generally here-cause I don;t know what you have-but you should be able to undo it from the overflow end and the trap end easily enough without causing any damage.

May be that you will have to replace it.
