Possible mouse noise

About a month ago, I hear a tapping noise that sounded like possibly something in my wall. The noise in question happened on a windy night around midnight. I’ve never heard this noise before, nor have I ever had evidence of mice inside my home, or in my attic. The noise didn’t sound like gnawing, but a tapping esque noise. It was loud enough that I heard it when I opened the basement door, and I also looked outside at midnight, like a crazy person. I would appreciate any insight at all, I have a video, with the noise in the background, but I have no idea how to get it in this post,

Possible cable wind blown striking some thing.

If it's a mouse you'll hear it again. Keep an eye out for poop; looks like black rice, probably adjacent a wall. You can put a humane trap down and you'll hear it rattling as furry friends try to escape once caught. I take mine a good mile away to a local woodland when dropping them off

I once had such a problem and I tried spraying WD40.
Didn't kill the mice, but it stopped them squeaking.
