Yes it is o.k, because recondition means to restore to good condition, modify means to change, therefore reconditioning a pcb is not, in fact, a modification....

"reconditioned" means botched back together by someone who doesn't know the spec for the board. I've seen dangerous ones.

If they never use the original components they are modifying....would you like me to go through your original statement & point out the fact that you said by replacing a reconditioned part you are modifying the appliance, which is of course is against regs, a part RECONDITIONED PROPERLY IS NOT UNACCEPTABLE...a part to any gas appliance that has been MODIFIED IS UNACCEPTABLE. Hope this helps..

I think you will find that this is your original statement....& as i have said... it is perfectly acceptable to fit reconditioned parts....IT IS NOT MODIFYING THE APPLIANCE!.........

i cant see how by cutting a link on a pcb is modifying a pcb when the only differance between that pcb and pilot one is that link is missing anyway

Only if the work was done by the manufacurer or someone approved by them - which I think you won't find.

We've had this argument over the years on several forums. Unless the parts are original, it's your neck on the line if you fit them.

Sometimes - diaphragm say, I might use a pattern spare, but not for anything which might impact safety.
