Potterton Kingfisher 2 boiler - pilot

The pilot light on my boiler appears to be glowing too brightly. This causes the casing to to become hot. Is there a way of adjusting this to reduce the pilot light pressure.

I had previously had the opposite problem where the pilot light kept going out, which seems to be common to many posts.

Glowing too brightly?... what? are planes trying to land on your house... how was it glowing before...casings will be warm.what colour is the pilot light.
