Gas valve faulty?

If the gas valve was faulty then how do you imagine the central heating would be working?

There seems to be a lot of absurd suggestions tonight. Is it a full moon or something?

Ah, just checked my radio controlled weather station and see that it is indeed a full moon and +1.5°C outside.!

Soz, combi head on, should have bothered to check what system, etc .Apologies.

header tank empty?

An empty header tank will stop the flow of water from the cylinder.

Eh? :?: Im vexed by that comment

It could be gravity hot water circulation.

If the header tank (cold water storage tank) is empty then there could be no flow of water, hot, warm or cold from the outlet of the cylinder.

The flow form the cylinder is dependant on there being water in the header tank.

The header tank is NOT the CWS though, is it. Its the central heating systems feed & expansion tank.

The central heating is working but the hot water is warm. Any ideas out there.
:( :(

Need to know more about, what system, 2 or 3 port valves, gravity DHW.

I would check that the motoriesd valve to cylinder is opening and closing ok, check that the programmer is calling for heat for HW.

It would be helpful to have more information.

Dan.
