Potterton Kingfisher rs50 - Hot water no heating!

Hi all,

I am looking for some help with my boiler.

when i got home today, the heating wasnt on, yet the hot water was fine. I checked the hot water tank and it is nice and hot, and the box indicates that both the hot water and heating should be on - but no heat from radiators.

I tried moving the motorised valve from automatic to manual and - hey presto - the boiler kicked in. But, when i released the lever on the valve and it returned to auto, the boiler switched itself back off again.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Thanks.

sounds like the motor has gone in valve, not motoring over to heating, or less unlikely but possible the room stat not sending power to valve, proberly the motor

Leave it on manual until you get the valve repaired and then you will get heating whenever the hot water is heating up.
