hi guys
the problem i have is that the best i can get from my boiler is slightly luke warm water the boiler fires up but no hot water
i have removed the heat exchanger and tried to clean ... feels heavy like there may be some sludge etc but was unable to confirm this or clear it at all ?
soaked in vinegar for a few hours and put back no better really

are these boilers unreliable ? i have seem some things on the web
thanks for any thoughts !

Simon

More info please. Does the boiler stay fired when hot water on or comes on and goes off and stays off or keeps cycling?

To be honest a few hours in vinegar won't do jack. Clean it properly or fit a new one and get the system cleaned

Try opening your taps just enough to get the boiler to fire, if it then comes out nice and hot it looks like a replacement Heat Exchanger which to be fair if you have had yours off already you could do it yourself.

Hope your joking mate.

I was a worcester man until i fitted the performa and its the best boiler i ever fitted.
Unfortunally to become an approved installer they are having me fit the duo tec at the moment which i hate for my own stupid reasons being as follows.
1. No Water Only Option (Why)
2. The stupid god awfull filling loop that comes with it!!

1. Interlock
2. bin it and fit an external one

1. How do you explain the interlock to customers when they want it on water only in the summer ? Its hard enough explaining how to turn the heating on from their new stat.

2. Would but its extra cash that dont need spending. Anyway they get their nice shiny chrome looking cover instead!!!

as per powell30's post check if blr is firing when calling on hot water. Feel flow pipe- 22mm on far left on blr. If its getting warm when dhw demand- diverters kernackered.
If temperature is going straight up but not htg water- plate heat blocked or kernackered diverter.
