Hi,
I've got a Potterton Prima F 30 boiler that works perfectly when cold. The problem is that after the heating has been on for about 30 mins, the pilot won't ignite.
Fan comes on, pressure switch trips and the pilot gas valve opens but there are no sparks. A little tap on the front underside of the boiler casing (slightly to the left of the reset switch) makes it spark and ignite so I'm guessing there's a loose connection somewhere that gets worse when the temperature rises. After tapping, it will normally work fine for the next few cycles before playing up again.
I had a quick look and couldn't see any loose wires...is it likely to be the board? If so, anyone got an idea how much these cost and where is a good place to get one from (via post or in the Newcastle upon Tyne area).
Thanks in advance.

Often this is a solder joint on the corner of the board where the H.T. lead plugs on. Well worth having a look if you can drive a soldering iron.
I don't like to use reconditioned boards, Corgi & manufacturers say it's not on. BUt this is quite a simple board, which costs something like £85, which is why the likes of CET Ltd find a market.

Hi all

I knoticed this weekend that my boilers pilot had extinguished. I cannot relight it as the pilot goes out as soon as I release the gas control knob whist in the pilot ignition position. Any suggestions before I call in the specialists.

Thanks

Garth

Garth, you should start a new thread, not hi-jack an existing one. Also you need to give details of your boiler, etc.

It's a new board i'm afraid, but the new one's come with a complete wiring loom witch you have to use. not dirricult to replace, the board should cost around £140.00 + vat .

Are you quite sure?

I thought it used the 407677 which are still sold for about £96 plus VAT.

Just like the Potty Profile and later Netaheats.

the've been re-designed,

the new one's come with the side panel, in a box the size of a shoe box.

Does Potterton know about this "modification of the 407677" ?

Still sounds like the SUPrima!

Have you been drinking?

As they are the same as the Profile and later Netaheats then presumably the same applies to them?

Question though, as the PCbs for the Prima are UNDERNEATH the boiler how do you fit this "replacement" on the side ???

Did you know about the new replacement for the SUPrima, Potty Part Number 5111603 GC No. 796-917
