hi there i have apotterton puma 100e ,all of a sudden it has started to make banging noises and starts to shoot out hot air through a pipe on left hand side at the top ov the boiler the water is always hot and when it gets to hot the boiler locks out can any wan pls help

Does this happen on CH and HW demands?
yes on both ,but then after i while it stops makeing the banging noises ,but locks out when it gets to hot
If you can you need to check that the pump is running. A noise from it does not mean that it is rotating. See FAQ's on checking pumps and be careful to protect yourself and the boiler electrics from damage. If in doubt get a pro in to fix it.

hi have checked pump is running fine ,i think its something to do with the hot water ,because i had the heating on last knght but turned the hot water down to its minimum ,made a noise for a while but then stopped ,but agian when it got to hot it locked out
