Potterton Puma 80 Pilot Light

The pilot light will light when in spark mode but as soon as i release the switch (after 30 seconds or more) to turn it to the on position it goes out.

Any suggestions what is wrong.

I have come across them in the past. you're right, it's a pain in the ass. It's a combi is'nt it? Usually you can release the button after 15/20 secs only and bingo turn the knob on.

Thermocouple burnt out, overheat stat knacked or gas valve not holding. Get yourself a gas installer.
