Hi
We have a Potterton Puma 80, it has been working fine until today when it won't start.
Green Flame light comes on for a few seconds then the boiler cuts out.

Central Heating not working but hot water does!

Any help appreciated

P Permanent pilot or E Electronic ignition?
Cuts out - just stops or do you have to reset it?

Try thumping it, 6" from the bottom in the middle of the front. (Course you're supposed to be Corgi reg to do that)

Just stops, doesn't lockout.
We have retried a few times and now it seems to be staying on fingers crossed it stays on.

thanks

COuld be bad joints on the printed circut board. They always fall to bits. Hence the thumping. You need a new board, perhaps. I have loads of them - let me know!

AH good, don't know wotcheronabaht! Teach me/us about the big resistor! :D

(hmm can't be for the fan, that has a 90volt tapping off the transformer...)
