there is on account of some wazuk advocating DIY repairs when you have to be in the case of a room sealed appliance
So that all readers can understand why you think you're right, can you quote the section from the relevant legislation that prohibits replacement of the PCB by a non-registered engineer? Also, can you give me any idea why you disagree with CORGI's interpretation of the law in this context?

And when you talk about advocating DIY work, are you calling the following poster a wazuk?

Kit comes with full instructions on how to fit it its a bit more difficult than justy changing board though as the kit involves replacing the complete wiring harness and taking the room sealed cover off to get wires in icon_confused.gif
Or this one?

you need pcb kit part number 5111603 icon_confused.gif
Or this one?

if it still keeps locking out you are looking at a new pcb kit icon_confused.gif i say kit because it is not just a pcb as it is a differant make to your old pcb you will need to replace the whole wiring harness as well which comes in the Kit icon_lol.gif these kits do sell on Ebay for around £100 if you are happy to do it yourself as they do come with full instructions icon_wink.gif
Good luck Gaz

P.S when you do a search on Ebay spell Suprima correctly
Or this one?

If you have a Suprima 100, you also need an adapter kit for the fan motor.

And, worst of all, when you fit the whole contraption, it may not work!

Not gona comment on these boilers any more . 90% say the same thing on thi thread ,yet when i stated they were a bag a S.H.I.T. i was slated 4 talking rubish. The only thing these boilers are good 4 is keeping engineers busy.

i did not call gaz a wazuk
Well, by inference, you did.

I already did, and the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 (SI 1998:2451) do not cover domestic installations unless the residence is being let out to a tenant.

It's increasingly implausible that you have a good grasp of the law that governs the work that you do.

that is obviously what you can't grasp
I DO YOU DON'T
i dont need to know the little bits of legislation
i leave the likes of that to pillocks like you
if its not right its not right END OFF
now pee back off back into general chat
you are really becoming boring
as in you haven't a clue what you are talking about
i reiterate WAZUK

:!:

Does this mean that you know the large bits? If so, do you understand them? If so, do you abide by them?

Er, no.

Well, tell me at what point you found me interesting, and I'll post more of that information instead.

I don't need to have clues, I'm just reading the legislation. There's something quite wrong if you believe that you're working outside the law.

Do you work for a CORGI registered business kevplumb?

na not me son
not interested
i hold my OWN reg

so sod off and read the relavent documents

i reiterate WAZUK you know naff all about the gas industry
we can all read prescotts drivel

Again with the eye rolling. I'm beginning to understand this now - it's a sign of insecurity, and happens when you realise that someone has seen through the veil that you like to draw over gas work.

Regarding the relevant documents, I would be glad to read anything you can name that governs the installation, maintenance and repair of gas appliances. However, it's unlikely that I will ever s** off. It's far more likely you'll be skating on the ice of hell first.

The information from the ODPM conflicts with the law, so I don't refer to it or rely on it, and I've never quoted it as being accurate.

Would you like a tissue after that?

I don't rely on them at all, but they make it easier to respond to individual points and questions, and, in your case, are an excellent way of illustrating to other readers exactly how bizarre your postings are becoming.

my postings are not now and have never been bizzare

as for the relavent documents

it's obvously not the place of a idot like me to educate an idiot like you

have some rolling eyes

Back to the old corgi /competent thing, it's quite simple, just vague.

Everyone doing any "work" on a gas appliance has to be "competent". So it seems to me that it depends what the work is.
If you're "employed", yes that's the word, then you have to be Corgi regd. Vague. If a girl gets her dad to put a screw back in the case, you could say, with normal English usage, she's employing him to do it. Payment irrelevant.

Corgi themselves fog it more, by saying that you have to be Corgi regd to disturb anything which affects airflow, gas, or safety devices in the boiler, whoever it belongs to. That includes the case(air) and pcb(safety devices) really, perhaps a bit vague again, but it certainly includes the fan, which you remove to change a Suprima pcb.

anything that controls/governs the gas/flue/safe operation of the appliance is corgi territory and yes the casing seals come under that guidance so changing the pcb and wiring harness/fan if applicable come under the regs, corgi no longer give guidance they just tell you to look in the mi.if the person who designed/made the suprima pcb was classed as competent what chance has a diyer got?oh by the way you need to remove the combustion chamber cover to do the mods so you are interfering with the safe operation of the appliance and it should be recommissioned in accordance with the mi,hope this helps the mentally challenged on this forum
