How do I check the water pressure and where do i fill it up? i can't find a hose or tap anywhere. The hot water is fine but all the rads are cold wanted to check this b4 i called someone out. Could it be a sealed system? and what does that mean? Please help i'm freezing!

how many tanks in the loft :?:

is there a pressure guage anywhere or a pipe leading outside :?:

it should be a fully pumped system check the zone / diverter valve is working

There is no tank in the loft, there is a cylinder on the landing, the boiler downstairs lights and the fan comes on but it goes off after about 20 secs. Two weeks ago the rads were on all the time, it has always been temperamental but it usually sorts its self out this time it doesn't seem to be. Potterton have quoted me £235 to come out does this sound fair?
Thankyou so much for your repy

My instincts are in agreement with what Kev was saying about zone/ diverter valve, Its likely that a 3 way diverter valve is stuck in the Hot water position.
The pressure in the system / sealed system thing isnt likely to be relevant as the boiler fires up for hot water.
The tanks dont have to be in a loft they are sometimes in a cupboard. The existence of a notably smaller tank indicates that you do not have a sealed system and therefore water pressure depends on the height of this tank. The existence of a pressure vessel would confirm a sealed system.
£235 does seem a lot but is this a guaranteed repair price :?:
You could try a local plumbers merchant / gas parts supplier if they can recommend anyone. Thats how I get some of my work

Should be somewhere near the cylinder. Search 'v4073a' on ebay or internet to see a diverter valve. Search 'v4043a' to see a zone vlave. There are several different manufacturers they ^^^ are just the honeywell ones but you will get the idea
