customer phoned tonight . potterton HE makes banging noise at ignition but only occasionaly at varying times.comments please

Assuming its a promax 1 i would check electrodes,remove yellow jumper on modulation pcb and then if that doesnt work change the ignition pcb

I would ensure that the inlet pressure to the gas valve , when the boiler is firing at full rate ,maintains at least 20 mb. If this is so , I would then take G.T.P:S advice .
