Hi there I had a Q. The metal parts of the drill rust over time. For example the chuck part where the screwdriver bit goes in. Is wd40 the best to keep these parts in good condition and rust free?

I've never had a drill rust, keep it clean dry and out of the cold, maybe smear a little grease on chuck if not in use for extended periods of time

Blup

WD40 is banned from my eyesight & has been for many years.

The much cheaper alternative of GT85 is far superior in almost any job where you can think WD40 would work.

I still use 3 in 1 oil for many things.
Chainsaw oil is cheap and non fling formulation is also useful product.

I used to dry tools in boiler cupboard if they got wet in rain. Don't store power tools in cold damp garage especially in winter
