has anyone know why
The unit has been working great up until yesterday-when the we found we had no hot water or heating.
We have reset the boiler and now have hot water ,but still NO central heating.Boiler starts up when hot water is drawn-fan kicks in etc!!

Checked room thermosat/pump and all conections-they seem OK(although pump does not start up).A friend said that it may be the diversion switch, as it is not allowing the the boiler to switch over to CH.

Would you have any idea as to the issue?

Is there really only one pump?

Or is there a second one on the CH only which is not starting? If so then normally one would be looking at the controls and then checking the circuit operation.

However, you mention "resetting", what type of "reset" was that? It sounds as if the unit may have suffered some trauma.

Thermal store (hot tank) needs to reach appox 60* before c/h pump will operate, controlled by the cold start stat

Either with a multimeter or putting a link in from the c to no terminals on the stat.
