I have a powermax 155 boiler which is not igniting. It has worked with no problems since I moved into my property which has been around 6 months. I noticed I had no hot water and saw that the boiler was locked out. I turned it off to reset. It atempts to ignite 3 times and then locks out. I have checked my gas valve which appears fine. My water pressure is just over 1bar. I have no wiring diagrams so I cant see what else would hold it off. What else can I check?

When the boiler tries to start I have removed the screw on the gas valve where you would usually connect a manometer. Gas comes out which gives me an indiction the the valve is working. The burner fan runs but it just tries 3 times to ignite and locks out

you know I am usually an amiable kind of chap but this kind of stuff sends shivers down my spine it really does

DO NOT attempt a repair yourself

call in a Powermax specialist.

Your electrode gap needs resetting or the control box is not getting a spark to the electrodes.

When was it last serviced?

We dont actually know which test point he opened to get the gas from!

A little knowledge can be dangerous!

Isn't this the model which BG made a mistake with and somebody was killed?
