Pre-Painted Wickes Door

Hi

I have bought this door, it states it is pre-primed. Do I still have to use an undercoat or can I use a couple of coats of Dulux Satin. FYI, I have used a primer on the edges of the door.

EDIT: Just worked it out, it's actually self undercoating lol.

If you are using water based paints, carry on as you are.

Depending on the quality of finish that you want, you may, or may not want to sand the existing finish. Typically, they are are pre-sprayed. Sanding with 180 grit will flatten the factory finish. And, in theory, so long as you don't cut through the finish, you will be fine.

Be sure to sand the edges after the first primer - as the grain will be proud.

I used to seal them as the factory primer is very dry.
There are different ways to do it and different products.
I always screwed legs to the ends so I could paint one side and immediately flip over and paint the other side. No runs that way.
